I’m Anthony Louis-Jeune, known in the art world as Thony Loui — a multimedia designer, comic book creator, and visual storyteller born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

For over 15 years, I’ve been creating bold, meaningful work that blends art with advocacy. Whether through comics, murals, or digital media, I focus on stories that amplify underrepresented voices and champion environmental justice, cultural pride, and social resilience.

As a color-blind artist with deuteranopia, my journey in visual design has been anything but conventional. I’ve learned to see the world differently — and that difference drives my creativity. My formal roots began at Altos de Chavón School of Design in the Dominican Republic, where I studied Fine Arts and Illustration. Later, I had the honor of being mentored by comic legend Rich Buckler, a chapter that helped shape my voice in the comic world.

My first creation, Djatawo — Haiti’s first superhero — was a cultural milestone, earning recognition at the 5th Ibero-American Design Biennial in Madrid, and a feature on Conan Without Borders with Conan O’Brien. But it was Tanama, my environmental heroine, who became a true movement. She’s inspired national awareness campaigns in Haiti, from climate action to COVID-19 response — becoming a symbol of strength, sustainability, and spirit.

Through my studio, Spider Whale Studios, I continue to build a cast of characters — like Djatawo, Tanama, Red Scarf, Detective Caesar LaCroix, and Zeen — that reflect the beauty, struggle, and power of Black and brown communities. We collaborate with artists, organizations, and activists to bring stories to life that not only entertain — but educate, inspire, and unite.

This is more than art — it’s a purpose.

Follow along as Spider Whale Studios continues to create worlds where heritage meets heroism, and imagination fuels social change.
